UTMA 19 Results: Maslobojev Beats Dirkstys by TKO

Sergej Maslobojev defeated Dominykas Dirkstys by second-round TKO in the main event of UTMA #19 at Žalgirio Arena in Kaunas. The official verdict is clear, but the injury finish left the most anticipated Lithuanian kickboxing fight of the year without the decisive ending either fighter wanted.

Maslobojev vs. Dirkstys Result

Sergej Maslobojev defeated Dominykas Dirkstys by TKO in round two after an apparent left-hand injury.

Early in the second round, Dirkstys threw a hard left hook and immediately reached for his left hand. He moved back toward his corner while the referee administered a count. When Dirkstys did not clearly indicate that he was ready to resume, the referee stopped the bout. Dirkstys then left the ring.

Verification note, October 28: UTMA's statistics page now contains a completed TKO result. Its current main card labels the finish as round one at 1:57, while KickboxHub's original ringside report, Delfi's live coverage and 15min's post-fight report identify round two. We retain the independently reported second-round result. The official card's conflicting round label and precise time remain flagged for review; this report does not present that timestamp as a confirmed second-round stoppage time.

The Injury Had Been a Concern Since June

The hand problem did not first emerge on fight night. KickboxHub received information about Dirkstys's injury in mid-June and raised it privately with Maslobojev on June 29. Maslobojev did not confirm or discuss unofficial injury reports at that point, saying his focus remained on the fight as officially agreed.

Public reporting later established the nature of the injury. 15min reported that Dirkstys fractured a metacarpal in his left hand during his training camp in Thailand. In late July, Dirkstys said he still needed roughly another month before he could punch with that hand, according to Sportas.lt. LRT also reported the recent metacarpal fracture and the preparation time it cost him.

Those reports establish the pre-existing fracture. They do not by themselves establish a new diagnosis from fight night, so the finish is described here as an apparent aggravation until Dirkstys or his medical team provides an update.

Maslobojev Calls for a Rematch

Maslobojev said after the fight that he was disappointed by the way the contest ended. He wished Dirkstys a quick recovery, expressed hope that the damage to the hand was not serious and called for the rivalry to be settled in another bout as soon as possible.

Maslobojev also made his intention for a rematch unmistakable: he said he would aim to finish it in the first round.

The reaction matters because the stoppage answered the record-book question but not the sporting one. Maslobojev is the winner of the first meeting, while Dirkstys's injury leaves an obvious route to a second fight if both men and UTMA want it.
