Who is Yuki Yoza? Japanese kickboxing phenom taking the world by storm

March 19, 20262 min read56 views

Japan's Yuki Yoza is one of the most exciting prospects in kickboxing today.

At just 28 years old, Yoza is a pound-for-pound talent, and he challenges for his second promotional title in ONE Championship this April.

Here's everything you need to know about Yoza as he steps onto the biggest stage of his fighting career.

Yuki Yoza's kickboxing record

Yoza has a professional kickboxing record of 24 wins and two losses. He's knocked out eight of his opponents and hasn't been finished in his entire career.

He's undefeated in K-1, won the K-1 lightweight championship in 2023, and was a star-studded youth Kyokushin prodigy, achieving numerous titles from 2012 to 2018.

Yoza made his professional kickboxing debut in 2019, racking up seven wins before losing to future RIZIN champion Chihiro Suzuki.

As he approaches his ONE Samurai headliner against Jonathan Haggerty, Yoza rides a three-fight ONE winning streak, with a unanimous decision victory over Superlek in 2025.

Yuki Yoza height & weight

Yoza is listed at 5'7", and last fought at bantamweight, which is 65kg, or roughly 143 lbs.

Yuki Yoza's ferocious kickboxing style

Yoza has built a reputation for his brutally effective leg attacks, mixing sharp boxing with intercepting low kicks to keep his opponents overwhelmed.

He maintains a steady assault on their legs and has a penchant for kicking his opponent's supporting leg from the inside when they lift for checks. It's a style built around overloading the opponent's nervous system, causing them to freeze up and give Yoza the lead.

Yuki Yoza's next fight

Yoza will co-headline ONE Samurai 1 against bantamweight kickboxing champion Jonathan Haggerty on April 29.

The card also features Rodtang vs. Takeru 2, as well as the return of Marat Grigorian.
